Cookie Policy
1. Cookies & Tracking in the App
The App uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and similar technologies to understand usage patterns and identify defects. You can manage notification and location permissions through your device settings at any time. The App does not use third-party advertising trackers.
2. What This Policy Covers
This Cookie Policy applies to the OM Events marketing website (openmarketevents.com). For the mobile app, the canonical statement is Section 8 of our Privacy Policy, summarised above. This page explains what cookies and similar storage technologies we use on the website itself.
3. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Similar technologies (such as local storage and session storage) also save data in your browser.
4. Cookies We Use
We use the following categories on this website:
- Strictly Necessary: Required for core site functionality such as remembering session state during a single visit. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site.
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics): We use Google's Firebase Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and which features are used. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the site. Firebase may set cookies and use device identifiers to attribute visits.
- Authentication (when signed in): If you sign in via this website (for example, to verify your email or reset your password), Firebase Authentication stores a session token in your browser so we can keep you signed in across pages.
We do not use third-party advertising or marketing trackers on this website.
5. Third-Party Services
Some cookies and storage are set by third parties we use to operate the site:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, analytics, and crash diagnostics. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Netlify: Hosting infrastructure. May set short-lived cookies for load balancing and security.
We do not share your personal data with these providers for advertising purposes.
6. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See the help section of your browser for instructions. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the site from working correctly.
- Analytics opt-out: You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- App permissions: In the mobile app, notification and location permissions are managed through your device settings, not through cookies.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We do not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no consistent industry standard for how to honour them. We instead minimise tracking by avoiding third-party advertising cookies entirely.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or notified through the app. The current version is shown at the top of this document.
