How OM Events compares

Most ticketing platforms charge per-ticket fees that buyers see at checkout. We took a different approach.

OM EventsTypical ticketing platforms
Pricing modelFlat monthly OR pay-per-eventPer-ticket fee + percentage
Buyer-side booking feeNone — what you price is what they payAdded at checkout, paid by buyer
Commission on paid sales5% (3% on Pro)Varies — often per-ticket flat fee + percentage
Free events£0 — no commission, your brandingOften branded with platform name
Recurring marketsFirst-class — set frequency, billing previewed up frontOften a separate event per date
Stall bookingsBuilt-in — sellers reserve and pay in-appTypically not supported
Offline gate scanningBuilt-in — works without signalVaries by tier

Long-term contractNone — cancel any timeVaries

We don't quote specific competitor percentages because ticketing-platform pricing changes frequently. Run the numbers yourself for your typical event size — the structural differences above hold regardless of which platform you compare against.

What we don't charge for

  • Free events — list them, share them, gate them with QR — £0.
  • Drafts — work on as many unpublished events as you like.
  • Buyer-side fees — your attendees pay the price you set, nothing more.
  • Seller-side fees beyond the stall — sellers pay the stall fee you set, no platform mark-up on top.
  • Refunds — we don't take our commission again on refunded sales.
  • Setup, onboarding, or training — sign up, publish, done.

Common questions

Is the first event really free?

Yes. Your first event is on us — no card required, no time limit. You only pick a plan when you publish your second event.

How are recurring events billed?

Recurring events are billed per occurrence. A weekly market that runs 5 times pays for 5 events. The exact charge depends on your plan — Pay-Per-Event organisers pay £6.99 × occurrences; monthly-plan organisers consume their monthly event allowance.

Do you charge buyers a booking fee?

No. When you price a ticket at £5, your buyer pays £5 — not £5 plus a booking fee. The commission comes out of your payout, not theirs.

What does the 5% / 3% commission apply to?

Paid ticket and stall sales. Free events have no commission because there is nothing to take a percentage of. Card processing fees are handled by Stripe and are separate from our commission.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Profile → Manage Subscription. Billing is prorated for the remaining month.

What happens if I run more events than my monthly limit?

You'll be prompted to upgrade to the next tier. We don't surprise-charge overage fees — you choose whether to upgrade or wait for next month's reset.

How do payouts work?

Ticket and stall payments are processed by Stripe and paid directly into your connected bank account. The platform commission is deducted at payout time as a Stripe Application Fee, so you never have to invoice anyone.

Is there a setup fee or contract?

No setup fee, no contract. Cancel any time. Your data stays accessible until you delete your account.
